About the event
For the 3rd year locally, Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County and Lowe’s hosted the annual National Women Build Week from May 5-12 where women volunteers and Habitat homeowners united nationwide to build up their communities and gain skills in home construction.
National Women Build Week encourages women nationwide to devote at least one day to help build decent and affordable housing in our local communities. Women have the strength and determination necessary to build Habitat houses, addressing the problem of affordable housing in a concrete way so that families can achieve stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable homes.
This year's project provided volunteers with a unique opportunity to participate in a transformative recycle build. Through the work of 69 volunteers, Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County continues to provide housing solutions for families in Lincoln County. The spirit of volunteerism is alive and well!
Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County share the vision that every woman, man and child have a decent place to lay their heads at night.
We thank our teams - Team Instigators, Carolina Federal Credit Union, Wells Fargo, Team Hurricanes, Lake Norman Realty, Inc., Lincoln County Board of Realtors, Keller Williams and our Homeowners! We would also like to recognize Dunkin’ Donuts (Lincolnton location) for generously supplying breakfast for volunteers each day of the week.
National Woman Build Week is held the week before Mother’s Day each year.
